Meet The Crew: Mark Ihlenfeldt

Posted By Courtney Shipshock On September 11, 2020

Mark Ihlenfeldt, Process Improvement Engineer, started with JP Cullen in 2014 and is currently working on the Capitol Dome project. With Mark’s role he has the ability to be involved with a variety of jobsites and different stages of projects at any given time. In addition to his role in Process Improvement, he also performs aerial operations for JP Cullen as a drone and aircraft pilot.

What do you like best about working at JP Cullen?

Simply put, working with the best like-minded people. We get it done.

What sparked your interest in the construction industry?

I was changing careers and thought it might be fun to drive a crane. Most people don’t know this about me but I was an OE for just under 15 minutes. I transferred over to the management side of the business fairly quickly!

What are your top 3 highlights of your life?

My daughter being born, my wife actually saying yes, and our pups waggy tail every day.

If you could have a superpower, what would it be?

I would want the ability to remember everything I have ever learned or been taught at the exact right time and apply it correctly. I would be unstoppable!

If you  could sit down to dinner with 5 people, who would you invite?

I would invite Robert Oppenheimer, Enrico Fermi, Wilbur and Orville Wright, and Arthur Minster.

What is your favorite memory?

Watching the sunset from the pilots seat. The colors are amazing, almost spiritual.

What is your personal mantra?

Send it.
