The McKinley Health Center is Froedtert & the Medical College of Wisconsin’s first clinic in the heart of Milwaukee, providing much-needed access to healthcare services for residents on the near north side and downtown.
This three-story, 37,000 sqft medical office buildout offers primary care, orthopedic, sports medicine and some specialty care, as well as physical therapy, rehabilitation, imaging, and laboratory services. Here, physicians and researchers will work with the NBA medical team to set a new standard for player care and sports science research.
Construction started in March, and the first patient go-live date was November 16th, which meant we had to be out by November 1st. Schedule was accelerated by the casework and hollow metal door trades and overtime work.
Site logistics were a challenge. The building was attached to a fully functional building. There was no on site parking or staging areas which meant just-in-time deliveries were key.
