This project renovated the existing area in the North Wing of Lapham Hall for the instructional and research needs of the College of Letters and Science and the Department of Biological Sciences.

The North Wing research and instructional spaces were renovated and reconfigured to increase space efficiency and provide adequate services to meet student needs. Research space requirements were based on a modular laboratory concept which allowed flexible configuration of labs and support space to address future campus initiatives.

New heating, air conditioning, ventilation, and exhaust systems were installed throughout the facility. All electrical, telecommunications, and plumbing systems were upgraded and reconfigured to serve the renovated spaces. New floors, ceiling, and wall treatments were upgraded, along with new energy efficient windows and doors. New fume hoods, environmental chambers, and research and instructional equipment were installed to complete the facility.
