Project Description:

The project of the new community performing arts center was long awaited by the Oconomowoc community. The Center was added to the north side of the Oconomowoc High School for everyone to enjoy.

The Oconomowoc Arts Center (OAC) is 30,000 square-feet and seats 750 people. The state-of-the-art building has an orchestra pit, control booth, practice rooms for the band and choir, dressing rooms, and ticket booth upon entry.

In addition, a beautiful, 880-pound, bronze statue named "Melody," was delicately lowered onto its permanent base directly in front of the Oconomowoc Arts Center on Friday, November 14, 2008.

Members of the Oconomowoc Festival of the Arts committee, which purchased the piece, were also on hand for the placement. One member noted that she had worked on and hoped for the opening of the OAC for 25 years. Performing Arts Center Enhancement co-chair, David Reul, said that "Melody will soon become the most photographed woman in Oconomowoc!"
