Project Description: Beloit Memorial Hospital (BMH) and J. P. Cullen & Sons have been project partners since 1967, recently completing their most exciting project to date—NorthPointe, A Health & Wellness Campus—in Arriving at NorthPointe, you are visually transported to a woodland lodge with all the amenities of an As industry leaders in the “healthy village” concept and understanding Beloit Memorial’s multi-community mission, Cullen recommended building the Terrace—a 24-unit, upscale assisted living facility before the entire campus was completed. The Terrace was opened for occupancy, taking only seven months to build. Tony Rothschadl, project superintendent, comments, “They [BMH] are good business partners, and were cooperative in making decisions and following through on their commitments as an Owner to ensure the project continued to move forward.” The project jewel is the Pavilion, which supports two main functions: Health (fitness) and Wellness (care). Themed to northland woods lodge architecture, the grand atrium gestures the quality materials used throughout as it welcomes the visitor into its expansive interior. The atrium boasts 35-foot cherry ceilings, maple wood paneling, and a massive field stone fireplace. Also featured are a full laboratory, radiology area, and physicians’ clinics. The Health portion of the building is 55,000 square-feet, including a 10,000-square-foot exercise area, as well as yoga, spinning, three community rooms, Internet café, registration area, a health bar serving yogurt, salads, and smoothies, and a seven-lane lap pool, with an independent therapy pool. When the workout is done, handsome locker rooms await, with raised cherry panel locker doors, soft carpeting, grooming stations with stone countertops, and private showers. Or you can relax in an independent whirlpool or the sauna. Also, a 1,100-square-foot spa offers two treatment rooms, mud therapy, manicure/pedicure area, and retail space…all in a relaxed atmosphere with subdued lighting and water wall.
