Project Description: The new Wisconsin Housing & Economic Development Authority (WHEDA) office building was renamed the TOMMY G. THOMPSON COMMERCE CENTER. The building is a striking and innovative eight-story office building located just off Capitol Square in downtown Madison. It includes four-stories of underground parking, and uses ample daylighting to reduce electricity consumption, with special thermal windows to keep the temperature comfortable. WHEDA serves Wisconsin residents and communities by working with many agencies and individuals to provide creative financing resources that help generate affordable housing, as well as small business and agribusiness development. |
