The concrete portion of the project started in October and ran through March, not the ideal working conditions for pouring concrete. However, Cullen overcame that challenge by meeting or exceeding the scheduled dates given by the Construction Manager to evade liquidated damages.
Interdisciplinary Research Complex
J. P. Cullen & Sons, Inc. was the concrete contractor at the new, multi-phase Interdisciplinary Research Complex, an addition to the University of Wisconsin Medical School. The estimated cost of the project is $265 million, with the first phase of construction reaching approximately $135 million.
Camp Randall Stadium
The addition and renovation project at Camp Randall consisted of an extensive remodeling and expansion to the historic home of the University of Wisconsin Football Program. Expansions included the third-level and fifth-level concourses, as well as 72 luxury suites, 644 club seats, and 300 premium club seats on the new sixth, seventh, and eighth levels.
Rockford Register Star
The Concrete Division at Cullen fought frigid, winter temperatures laying the foundation for a building expansion and tabletop construction to support a 575-ton, German printing press for the Register Star in Rockford, Ill.
