"UW-Madison and J.P. Cullen & Sons have grown together for multiple generations. In the last decade they [Cullen] have built almost $400 million in major projects across campus. Many of them were challenging renovations of historic buildings such as Camp Randall Stadium, Education and Sterling Hall."

"They bring a hard-working team of skilled craftsmen, familiar with the campus, and deliver us long-lasting and functional buildings. Whenever they are selected for a job we are confident in the result."

-Alan Fish, UW-Madison Associate Vice Chancellor for Facilities Planning and Management

"Cullen has earned their status as Epic's Construction Manager/General Contractor because they listen to Epic and place a very high value (as Epic does) on customer service. I truly feel that they have Epic's interest at heart with all of their business dealings.

Cullen personnel know what is going on throughout our facility and they work to minimize disruption to our business. For example, they help us prepare for our annual user group meetings (where 4000 people must make their way to our Verona Campus) and even shut the job down during that week so we make sure it comes off without a hitch. Their managers take us up on our invitations to attend some of the user group events to help them fully understand Epic. That allows Cullen to serve us better.

On the projects, Cullen assists Epic from the start of Master Planning by providing us with input on cost, scheduling and constructability. During design phases, Cullen works integrally with Epic to propose cost effective solutions to design challenges. Projects are completed on very aggressive schedules, but done safely and with the highest quality end product. Epic is kept completely informed all along the way and there is top Cullen management involvement in all the projects."

“Your work speaks for itself, as you’ve left your mark on some of the most visible projects in the state, from the renovation and expansion of Camp Randall, to the ongoing restoration of our beloved Milwaukee City Hall. It must be particularly gratifying to see the fruits of your labor contribute so publicly to the common wealth.”

“They’d work all day and then have to button-up so 80,000-plus people could come and enjoy the game. Talk about guys really committed to their work, to doing the job well and around our schedule!”

“When I think of J. P. Cullen & Sons and my experience with them in the Capitol, the strongest thing I see is their ability to manage and control an enormous variety and number of activities simultaneously … the ability to maintain the schedule, optimize the number of tradesmen in a confined area, to achieve the highest possible production rate. That’s very difficult because you have to have enough people, but you can’t have too many. To achieve the goals given, the selection of Cullen was a must. I believe we could not have achieved it any other way that I can imagine. I needed Cullen because of their experience in the building, but also for their ability to control and manage all elements involved in the design and construction. So, it an amazing coordination effort and that coordination effort is what stands out uppermost in my mind.”

-Daniel Stephans, Project Manager/Capitol Restoration Project Division of Facilities Development State of Wisconsin

“I wanted to express my sincere appreciation for the repair work that you performed this past summer at Hales Corners Elementary School. J. P. Cullen & Sons had renovated the building in 2002. A ‘bubbling’ problem started years later in the main vestibule and thanks to J. P. Cullen, the correct solution to the problem was implemented and we now have a safe entranceway for our community to enter our school.”

-Dan Larsen, Building & Grounds Supervisor Whitnall School District

“The entire construction process went smoothly and came in on budget. This was due not only to the leadership provided by you [Mark Cullen], David [Cullen], and Rich [Cullen], but also the extensive effort of your Milwaukee Division Staff.”
