John Patrick Cullen was renowned for his work ethic, at one time riding a bicycle 50 miles from Janesville to Mount Horeb to inspect a job under construction.

The founder of J.P. Cullen & Sons Inc. - which now has office in Janesville and Brookfield - began a tradition in 1892 that is still honored by the company today.
